On Friday, April 12, 2024, William Jacob (Jake) Yanke, our beloved brother, passed away at the age of 60. Jake’s home for most of his life was Columbia Station, Ohio. Jake enjoyed the outdoors and loved working with his hands. He especially loved his dog Pepper, who was his constant companion and traveled with him all over the country while working in the commercial construction industry. He worked as a foreman on many highly recognizable businesses when they needed remodeling and his craftmanship was impeccable. Jake was a generous, loyal, and loving person with a big heart and hearty laugh that will be greatly missed.
Jake is preceded in death by his father Duane, mother Sandra, and stepmother Carolyn. He is survived by his brothers Mikel Yanke (Paula), Scott Wright (Jaime), and stepsiblings Traci Welch Carrico (Kenneth), Jonna Hunter-Macon (Michael), and Duane Welch (Melissa). Additional survivors include 5 nieces, 6 nephews, and 11 grand nieces and nephews.
The family invites you to a celebration of life on Saturday, April 27, 2024, eulogy and tribute service from 3-3:30 PM and receive friends following until 6 PM at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road, Elyria 44035.
